This Ceramide Vulva Barrier Cream is an oil-free, non-comedogenic and fast absorbing formula to restore compromised lipid barrier of the vulva skin which otherwise can cause dryness and redness. It contains a skin-identical ceramide complex to instantly act like a seal between skin cells to lock in moisture and protect the skin from water loss, allergies and infectious microorganisms. Niacinamide and Phytosphingosines in this formula increase the synthesis of ceramides and free fatty acids in the skin for a long-lasting skin protection. Anti-inflammatory action of Bisabolol reduces redness and irritation while Squalane and propanediol provide skin flexibility and deep moisturisation. The combination of Lactic Acid and Sodium Lactate adjusts the healthy pH of feminine genital area and maintains the natural acidity of the intimate zone.

Key Ingredients

Skin-identical ceramide complex

• Resembles the structure of the natural lipid barrier of Stratum corneum (uppermost layer of skin) for enhanced skin moisturisation and protection ideal for dry and sensitive skin
• Concentrated mix of different types of ceramides, Cholesterol (vegetable-derived), free fatty acids and phytosphingosine which prevent water loss, dryness and irritation. It restores the protective barrier function and maintains the skin integrity
• Ceramides represent about 50 percent of the skin’s natural lipid barrier, cholesterol about 25 percent, and other fatty acids making up another 10 to 15 percent
• Ceramides act like a seal between skin cells to lock in moisture and protect the skin from water loss, allergy and infectious microorganisms. Ceramide levels decline with age which can result in dryness, irritation, redness, and dehydration. Lower ceramide levels are linked to skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea
• Phytosphingosines in this complex are ceramide precursors which help skin make more ceramides naturally

Propanediol

• Attracts water from deeper layers of skin to the outer skin layers in dry environments
• Creates a film on the surface of skin to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) from the outer skin layer which will increase skin hydration

Lactic Acid and Sodium Lactate

• Part of our skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF) which attracts and retains water on the skin to reduce dehydration
• Forms a film on the skin to reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and skin dryness
• Lactic Acid is produced naturally in the female genital tract to inactivate potentially pathogenic microorganisms and to support the growth of good microorganisms in vaginal microflora
