Even when you take good care of your genital hygiene, you may experience itching in the genital region on occasion. Persistent uncomfortable sensations may be a result of an underlying problem. Below are 2 possible reasons for genital itchiness;

1 - Infections

We all have heard that vagina is a self-cleaning oven and there is a reason for that. The uterus, cervix and vagina produce vaginal discharge, mainly made up of dead cells and bacteria to clean and lubricate the vagina, and fight off bad microorganisms and infections. Discharge from the vagina is a natural and normal process. However, a change in the colour or amount of discharge accompanied by vaginal discomfort and itching can indicate infections. Such occasions should be examined by a medical practitioner as medical treatment may be needed.

2 - Topical imbalance

Unlike vagina, the vulva (external part of the genital region) needs care just like the skin on any other part of the body. Topical imbalance such as Dryness, irritation, pH and microbiome imbalance can lead to itchiness in the region. However, choosing microbiome friendly products is crucial to avoid further complications.
Vulva microbiome is an ecosystem of microorganisms with a delicate balance between beneficial microorganisms versus disease causing species. The slightest disturbance in vulva condition endangers the population of friendly and useful species. It deposits Vegetable derived Biolipids on the skin to compensate for the loss of lipids over time while Aloe Vera Extract and Allantoin offset irritation. Chicory prebiotics in the Prebiotic Intimate Hydrating Gel are bio-selective food supplements which strengthen the protective microbiome of the sensitive genital skin. It also includes Lactic Acid and Sodium Lactate combination for pH adjustment throughout the day. It contains a carefully selected humectant combination as well as natural moisturising factors (NMF) that are naturally present within the skin to act like a water reservoir and release moisture gradually over time for long-lasting comfort.

This Gentle Intimate Cleansing Gel is specifically formulated for the sensitive skin of the feminine intimate area. It is the next generation intimate wash which is sulfate, soap and fragrance free. It contains mild cleansing agents instead to avoid striping natural lipids from the surface of the skin. Skin identical Biolipids (vegetable derived) in this formula leave a protective layer after each use to strengthen the skin barrier and alleviate dryness. It also contains soothing Aloe Vera Extract and Allantoin to provide synergistic anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant benefits. The balanced pH combined with Lactic Acid ensures high compatibility with the feminine microbiome making this product gentle enough for daily use.
